Andeluna was born as a partnership between Ward Lay, son of the founder of Frito-Lay and former chairman of the board of PepsiCo, and the Reina Rutini family, owners of the vineyards they planted in the 1990s. In 2007 the Reina Rutini family sold all their shares to Ward Lay who remained the sole owner until October 2011 when he sadly passed away. Following Ward's mandate, his family decided to transfer its assets to an Argentine family that respected his ideals and principles. The search fell on the Barale family, known in Brazil in the energy area and in Argentina, as participants in the wine industry through a boutique winery in Villa Atuel, San Rafael, Mendoza province, where they have been producing and marketing wines under the Finca Martha brand for several years.
